This garden design, located in Hampshire was completed in Summer 2022. This coastal garden looks to make a feature of the existing levels as well as seamlessly connecting the front and rear gardens together.

Throughout the rear garden, there is a new informal paved entrance to the property which takes you either out of the property or into the veg growing area. This space is accessed by floating bespoke stone steps with discrete underlighting. The feature steps have been designed to zig-zag up the existing slopes to allow for the planting to soften the edges.

The planting throughout the coastal garden will help soften the degree of the slope and provide a contrast to the hard landscaping. The planting palette features drought tolerant species. This includes coastal loving ornamental grasses and perennials that thrive in exposed, salty conditions. Feature shrubs and multi-stemmed trees have been selected to add texture, height, structure as well as providing all year round interest.

The larger steps leading from the terrace, through the slope to the pedestrian access there are feature planters that feature dwarf pine shrubs to add further interest and texture to the space. On the terrace, to match the planters, there is a stunning water bowl that will reflect the sun as well as the surrounding planting.
