Oaklands, New Forest

1/3

We are excited to be working on this new development set in the New Forest National Park.

Working closely with the clients and architects we will together deliver a sensitive landscape to compliment the proposed contemporary architecture.

The design is focused around connecting the new build with the natural landscape. This will be achieved by using a variety of planting styles. Prairie planting around the communal areas to include Echinacea, Eryngium and Echinops will create interest throughout the year and have been specifically chosen to create winter texture. Wildflower and lawn meadows will create informal areas in the wider landscape. Low evergreen native hedgerows will flow throughout the site connecting all the planting areas.

Landscape materials have been chosen to reflect the brick, timber and slate materials used in the architecture. Grey pavers with large pointing gaps will be planted with creeping Thyme to break up the main terrace, with brick sections laid thorough the prairie planting providing informal paths. Composite decking will overlook the natural pond and provide views across the entire landscape.
